The 20Twenty200 Project is a collective Digital Video Archive focusing on Columbus, Ohio African American Leadership and Black History. Columbus, Ohio has a rich African American history dating back to the 1820's. The 20Twenty200 Project aims to recognize and celebrate that rich history through original interviews, photos, stories and historical documents and records. The 20Twenty200 Project digital archives will serve as a resource for generations of researchers who seek to understand the lives of Black Leaders in Columbus, Ohio.
Far too often, we tend to capture our leaders from a business and or professional light. The 20Twenty200 Project takes it a step further to capture the life and character behind the leader. Our team of Historians lead by Columbus Local Historian Rita Fuller-Yates has worked to create an ongoing archive that will continue to grow each year as more stories and documents are received and added.
Please note that all documents and items catalogued are done so with the permission of the owner and are given the respect deserved when being digitized and or handled.
The 20Twenty200 Project archives are separated into three categories. The "Past Leaders" category will cover 1820-1980's, the "Current Leaders" will cover 1980's - present day, and lastly the "Future Trailblazers" category will feature young leaders that have demonstrated leadership that has prompted us to acknowledge their work.
For more information and how you can get involved or submit items for consideration, please contact us! The 20Twenty200 Project is not just a social club website, but rather an exclusive club spotlighting the achievements of African American leaders in Columbus, Ohio.
We love when the community joins our efforts to Capture Columbus' Black History. You can support our efforts by making A tax exempt donation today!
